Why solar lighting?

Stand alone solar for remote lighting can save cost up front, eliminating costly trenching to get the electricity to the site.

For areas where electricity is readily available, solar lighting will create savings that should more than pay back the extra cost of going solar over the life of the system.

However, electricity prices are set to soar. What may be a 10 to 15 year payback period with todays electricity prices may easily be halved in the next five years.

And the unnecessary carbon emissions are eliminated.

Every year approximately 35,000 new public lights are installed in Australia.

About 70% of these lights (24,500) could be comfortably run with solar.
